Visiting Dad at Work

Who needs a jungle gym when you have tractors, right? We went to visit Akoni at work, and the shop is the kids favorite place to play. They love all the tractors! Then we went on a quick ride in Akoni's cart and if you can tell it was sooooo cold, I think you can see Kenyon's eyes watering! It was freezing out there, so we just rode quickly and then went back in. Even though it was beautiful day, it was windy and cold, but we had a fun time.

More Fall Break Activities

Another activity we did was decorate cupcakes for Halloween. I am now using them as bribes to get my kids to do things!! What a genious I am!! Just kidding. They'll probably all go bad by the time the kids actually earn any, but it was fun decorating them! Mine of course were the only ones that lasted to take pictures of, as you can tell by Kenyon's picture of him stuffing his into his mouth. We did have a lot of fun and it was fun to just let the kids decorate their own and make the biggest mess. I just had to tell myself that it was creative play and it wasn't hurting anything and to just let them be kids. It was actually really easy to clean up, so we might do it again soon!!

1 Week Down, 1 To Go.......

So our first week of Fall Break is over and this is what we've done so far: (out of order)

1-Kenyon found a garbage can and played, I'm not kidding, for 1 hour that he was a robot!!

2-The kids made capes out of towels and played super heros for a while.

3-For some reason the one dirt corner in our backyard is where all the kids like to sit and play. Why am I trying to keep the grass alive? If it was all dirt they would have so much more of an area to play in......

We also went to the beach with some friends, but I was too cold to get out of my towel and take pictures. WE thought it was going to be a nice day, but it wasn't. None of the kids minded, they were actually swimming in the ocean!! But all of us sane minded adults were huddled in our towels trying to stay warm. Oh well, I guess it is October!!

A free handbag anyone?

Hey, it's worth a shot!! Who wouldn't want a free handbag? I couldn't decide which one I liked!! Here's the link:www.handbagplanet.com

Our front door!

So here is my front door all decked out for Halloween. I know it's lame, but look how spooky it looks at night! Hahahahaha! And if you look at the middle pumpkin, it's supposed to be a Mummy Pumpkin!

Painting our Pumpkins!

We decided that it's too soon to carve pumpkins because they will get all moldy by Halloween, so the kids painted them tonight!! It was so much fun watching them. Kenyon just made a mess, but had a great time doing it. Adriann kept wiping her face off and starting over, as you can tell by the pictures. She had quite a few other faces, but I didn't post them all. And we used washable paint, so I think we will just wash them off when it comes time to carving, or since they are so cute I guess we'll have to get more pumpkins to carve!!

Disposable or Not?

So my friend posted a blog about using non-disposable diapers for her baby and was wanting feedback from her friends. Reading her post and all her friends comments, I got to thinking about maybe not using disposable diapers? I know there are pros and cons for both sides, so bring on the comments. I would love to get some feedback on your opinions of both.

Halloween Decorations, I am so lame.

I thought I had more Halloween decorations, but searching for them last night, I realize that I only have 3. Orange lights, a Happy Halloween sign, and some tinsel. How lame am I? But I did change my blog background to a fall theme!! So I did go and buy a really cheap door decoration, but it's cute and the kids love it. So here is a picture, and then a picture of Adriann mimicking it which she thought was really funny!

Halloween!!

We're just getting so excited for Halloween so I thought I'd let the kids try on their costumes to make sure that they actually liked them. I think Kenyon's is the cutes Dragon costume ever! I love Old Navy costumes! I think the wings on the back are the best part. Adriann's isn't finished. She wants to paint her face green, but I was not in the mood to do that last night! She has been going back and forth with what she wanted to dress up as, but then when she lost her front top tooth last week she thinks that she looks like a witch now, so she had finally decided that she wants to be a witch!

Boo Hoo!

No, it's not a Halloween Greeting. I am sad because Akoni is gone till Sunday. He got a great opportunity to go to North Carolina for a conference, so he is off and gone for a few days. What am I going to do while he's gone? I thought I would be sitting around honestly, but I have actually got a lot of things done today! I went to the store, vacuumed, cleaned my kitchen, got dinner (pizza, I couldn't resist after talking about it at the playground!), bathed one child (the other is sleeping), and am doing laundry! So overall, very productive! But this is the first day, so who knows what else I'll get done in the next few days besides going to the grocery store because we do have to eat something other than cheese sticks which is all that is left in my fridge!

School Picture Day!

Adriann had her school pictures the other day and I forgot that I had taken pictures of her before she left for school. As kindergarten moms, I am sure that we were all worried if their shirts would last until picture time, but Adriann's teacher told us that they were first to get their pictures taken!! So hopefully she still looked like this at picture time!!

And of course Kenyon had to dress nice too that day, so here is a picture of him.

And here's a picture of them together.

Then here is a picture of these gold chains that Kenyon got out of those quarter machines that they have at the Dollar store. No, I did not give him money to buy them, he went over to the machine and turned the knob twice and two chains came out!! Lucky guy, but he wanted to wear them so bad, so I put them on him and he would not take them off. They are so ugly, but he loved them. They finally got stuck on something and broke off of his neck and were unfixable!!! Too bad!!

The Infamous Tea Party!!

So Adriann and her friends have been talking about having a Tea Party for about 2 weeks. Each day Adriann would come home from school saying that her friend Alex was going to have a Tea Party and could she go. Of course her mom Sarah had no clue that apparently she was going to be hosting a Tea Party every day. So we decided to finally have the Tea Party so the girls would stop bugging us. So here is a picture from the party. And what a party it was!! I think it lasted about 5 minutes. But they had fun, and got it over with, and I haven't heard a word about it since!

Can you guess what we're having?

We just found out today what we are having, and apparently we don't have a SHY kid here!! Do you think we should be worried? We are both so excited with what we are getting, I don't want to say yet because I want people to guess!! But I think it's pretty obvious!! Well only 20 more weeks to go!!

I am a BIGGEST LOSER LOVER!!!!

So who isn't inspired just by Jillian's body? I knew that this season was going to be an emotional rollercoaster when I was balling my brains out just during the introduction of the show. Seriously, not even 3 minutes had gone by and I was done. I guess it doesn't help that I am pregnant and have tons of hormones, but I just really love this show. I just keep remembering last season and how much all the people changed, and can't wait to see everyone's transformations! It is such an inspiration. And it's really bad that I sit and eat popcorn while watching it!! I guess I should find my dumbbells and try to work out while watching it next week!!

Can you see my lightning bolt?

Having a boy is so much fun!!! Akoni got creative when cutting Kenyon's hair!! And it's not perfect because 1/2 way thru Kenyon moved his head. So we'll try for a better one once this one grows out.

The Baby Blue Wrecking Crew

Adriann started soccer and so here are some pictures of her first game last week.

Here is Adriann before the game.

She got to be the team captain and so here she is at the coin toss.

You can tell she's really into the game.

Water break.

Just a cute picture of her out on the field.

The worst nightmares ever!!

So usually when I am pregnant I have those dreams where my husband is cheating on me. I think that's pretty typical of most women. I remember the first time I had one when I was pregnant with Adriann, I woke up and all day I was soooo mad at Akoni. He had no clue why and when I finally broke down crying and told him, he just laughed. It was kind of funny, but your emotions are so overloaded that I was still worked up about it even after I had woken up. Well now I would give anything for those dreams because I am having the worst nightmares ever! I wake up with a start and my body is frozen and I can't move for about 20 minutes. It is horrible!! I have no idea what to do or how to make them go away. I try to watch funny tv shows before I go to bed so that I have something good in my brain, but I still am having the same nightmare. And of course it is a really stupid nightmare about zombies, which I haven't even actually seen any of them yet, I am just wandering around an empty city with people and military guys looking for guns so that if the zombies do show up we can shoot them. But I am so terrified the entire time. Stupid huh? Any suggestions on how to make them go away?

Funny comment!

So Adriann's loves English Muffins, and they are a quick breakfast in our hurried mornings, so this morning I was making one for her and as she walked out the door she goes, "Mom, I love English muffins, but do they have Spanish muffins?" I thought it was cute!

On our Way to SunRiver!!

Our big trip this summer was to go to a BIG family reunion in Sunriver. That's in central Oregon. It was a lot of fun, but we drove so it was a looooong trip! So here are a few pictures of what we did. I put them all in separate blog entries so that there weren't a ton of pictures with no explanations. This first picture is of a place that we always stop to eat when we go to central Oregon called Poppa Al's. It's a hole in the wall, but they have the best food!! And they have real Peanut Butter Milkshakes that are the BEST!!

Pony rides! (reunion)

We took the kids to go on Pony rides and it was so cute!! They just walk around in a figure 8 like 3 times, but the kids had never been on horses before, so it was so much fun for them.
