New Moon

After a full day of trying to see the movie........sopposed to see it at 2:30, but decided to take Kamden with us because the babysitter we were sharing would have had to watch 6 kids and I wanted to make it easier for her, ended up seeing 10 minutes of the movie because Kamden was sooooooo loud and I was getting shushed! So we took him out and had a fun 2 hours walking around the mall waiting for our friends to finish the movie. Finally at 8pm my very good friend Lisa came over and sat with the kids after they were asleep (yeah right) and we got to see the movie at 8:30. I LOVED IT!!!! I hated the first one, but I am so satisfied with this one. There were obvious things left out and things changed, but overall it was not bad. One that I would definitely rent and watch Jacob again!!

Don't you think this is a big much? This was the snack bag that my kids brought home after Kenyon's soccer game last week. This was ONE SNACK BAG! I thought this was a little overboard.......These kids are 5 years old!!

Birthday cake

This was a cake that I made for my friend Ember's husband for his birthday. This was the Third attempt to make that golf ball. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. But I finally found an actual ball cake pan, and it worked!

These are some decorations that I made for our house. I was very proud of myself because I had all of this on hand! I guess that bag of bird seed finally came in handy!The kids helped me paint these bags for the pumpkins. They were so fun to make and can still stay up thru Thanksgiving!
These are my blocks that I FINALLY finished. I know they look plain, but if I try to do anything else to them, I will ruin them, so they are finished by my standards. And they match the frames around them. Someday when we get a mantle they will sit under that big picture behind them.

This was right after the Trunk or Treat at our church on Friday night. I am on the committee and so it was so busy and totally forgot to get a picture of them before, but they looked the same after.

Kenyon wore his Pirate costume that he wore when he was 2, I still can't believe that he fits in it. Adriann wore this awesome princess dress that I got on sale a few years ago for $3! She almost fits into it, but she wanted to wear it.

This was lunch on Halloween before we went to the mall to go Trick or Treating. It was soooooo crowded and there were way to many adults dressed up Trick or Treating. And some were kind of creepy, and not in a Halloween kind of way!
This was Halloween night after the mall. Kenyon changed his costume again right before we went trick or treating around our neighborhood. He was so tired and had put on his pajamas, but really wanted to go, so he threw on his robe and said he was a couch potato! I gotta remember that for next year......a totally free costume!

WEll this year we didn't go to the pumpkin patch. The had pumpkins at our local Save Mart that were huge and only $3, so we just went ahead and bought them. I know, lame, but we just didn't have time, be only bought them a week ago, so bad planning on the parents part!

This year the kids actually stuck their hands into the pupkins, but again, the carving and everything else was left to mom and dad. So only 2 pumpkins got carved. And we tried to do cool designs, but next year, I think we will just do the typical pumpkin face. This was too much work.

Disneyland here we come!!!

We finally took the kids to Disneyland!! I must say that I was maybe more excited than they were just because I knew what to expect, but they were pretty excited!

We told them that if they sang in church during sacrament meeting than we would go, so we have been practicing for a long time. The time finally came.....and they did it!! For those who know my kids, and have witnessed Adriann during the primary programs in sacrament meeting, you know what a big deal this was for her. They sang "I love to see the temple." And Adriann was shaking the whole time, but they both sounded great. Our friend Kurt played the piano and was perfect to keep up with them.

We drove straight to the Orange County airport to pick up a special friend that was going to go with us to DL, and it was GRANDMA!!! My mom flew in to go with us and it was so much fun. The kids didn't know she was coming, so they were so excited!! She made the experience so fun for them, and easier on us. She sat with the baby a lot so we could go on the rides he couldn't go on, and she also took the kids on lots of fun rides to.

We arrived right at sunset and this was the view from the condo we were staying at. Akoni's mission president has a condo close by that we were able to stay at. Not a bad view huh?!

If you notice in the background, the ominous looking clouds? We got sprinkled on for about 20 minutes in the morning, but then luckily no rain the rest of the day. It was overcast and kind of cold, but at least it wasn't 100 degrees! We lucked out because the next two days it poured rain!!

You have to stay tuned for actual pictures from Disneyland because I barely took any pictures on my camera, so I am waiting for the pictures from my mom, since she had her camera out the whole time. Sorry!!

I miss my contacts......

I have no more contacts. I am so sad. I just need to reorder them, but everytime I get on my computer to do it, i get distracted and then the day is gone and again I am left with no contacts. Soooo I am left with wearing my glasses ALL DAY! I am getting used to them, but they are driving me crazy! I can't wear my sunglasses and so I am thinking I might have to get some blueblockers or clip-ons. How great am I going to look! I should just get off of blogger and order some contacts, but I'm probably going to get distracted.........

Kamden is getting too big!

This is his favorite place in the house to hang out. He loves to eat shoes, I know gross, and so he just hangs out in this corner by all the shoes. His legs are actually slowly sliding apart in this picture and he is at that stage where he will stand but not sit back down yet, so he was actually just standing there screaming for me to help him! I know I'm so mean, I had to get a picture first before I helped him!

Picture Day!

This is a quick picture I took of Adriann on picture day. We did brush her hair after this picture, but I thought she looked cute, so I had to snap a quick one of her. I was fun we went on a mommy daughter date a few days before and she got to pick out a new shirt to wear since she didn't have to wear a uniform like last year. And I actually broke down and bought her some of those fake uggs!(they were on sale!) I have always wanted some but just have never got any, so I got some for her and she loves them! Well worth the purchase.

Fondant oh how I loath you......

This was my first attempt to make a cake and use fondant to cover it. It was sopposed to be a golf ball, but I couldn't get the dimples to stay in the fondant. I don't think I made the stuff right. So it became a base ball. It was just for practice so it doesn't look the best.

Akoni's mom and dad came and visited for a few weeks and helped us do a lot of stuff around our house. Here are a few of the things we got done.


We have never framed any of our wedding pictures so we finally did. Akoni's mom painted the Ganir Family on the wall between the pictures.


We spray painted our kitchen table and chairs black! It was a lot of work but it was fun to do. I even had to buy a hand sander, so now I will have to put that to use! I have never spray painted anything really, so I'm glad my MOL was here to help and to give me the idea to do it in the first place.



We also spray painted the bookshelf black. That was a lot of work. But I always hated the way it looked before. I could never get rid of it because it was a great bookshelf, but now I love it!!



Framed some pictures of the kids in the hall.



I found this painting at "Last Chance" for $3! The colors work perfectly in our kitchen. Then we made these Family Home Evening boards at Super Saturday. I have never had one and have always wanted one, so I was so glad that we did these. And the blank tag doesn't mean anything........it's just there for in case we have another baby, or a guest.

Long awaited pictures of our house-Adriann's room.

This is Adriann's room, not completely finished, but this is good for now. Her room was originally purple with her Princess bedspread. When my mom was here visiting she bought her this new bedspread that I had been eyeing for a while. Well there is no purple in the bedspread so we had to completely redo her room. I found this border at the dollar store, and it perfectly matched the colors. So I painted the room pink, put up the border, repainted her name, and voila!





The big flowers were painted by Akoni's mom while she was here visiting!





I need to change the color of the fabric on her bulletin board, but haven't decided what color to do yet.


I found these flowers at the dollar store also! I know they are kind of ugly, but they match the colors perfectly.

Hiking at Jack's Peak

A few weekends ago, Yeah I'm way behind, we went Hiking at Jack's Peak which is down is Carmel Valley. It was so much fun except that we had to really make sure that the kids stayed on the trail and didn't touch anything because there was poison oak EVERYWHERE!!

There was also a notice at the head of the trails about what to do if you encounter a mountain lion. Luckily and much to Adriann's disappointment, we didn't see any mountain lions. I had to keep reminding her that it wasn't like a zoo, we didn't WANT to see the mountain lion!!

No time to play catch up.....

We've been busy and I just don't have the time to post pictures of everything we've done this summer. Kind of sad...but here's what we did:

Adriann took some ballet/tap classes and love it!

Akoni's parents came for 2 weeks and helped us get our house together. I have no sense of design so now everything looks a lot better. We spray painted a book shelf, our kitchen table and chairs, and stained our Hot Chocolate Table. (That's what the kids call it since we don't drink coffee!) Dad Ganir helped plant lots of flowers and things in the front yard, and mom painted away lots of things. We had a blast with them here.

April, Akoni's little sister came to visit with her family for a few days also in August. We went to the Boardwalk, and Great America. It was a blast! I finally had someone to go on all the scary rides with.

Then School started....FINALLY!!! I am so glad to have the kids back in school. Adriann is in first grade and is going to the Dual Language Immersion program and will be learning spanish 50% of the day. We think it's a great opportunity for her and then next year Kenyon can start there hopefully for Kindergarten. She is so excited to be going there and has already made new friends at her new school. She is going to be starting swimming next week and can't wait!


Kenyon is going to Preschool again at Tiny Tot. He LOVES it. He is in the older class now that goes 3 days a week! He also started Soccer and Akoni is the assistant coach. The team's name is the Bumblebee Dragons! He had his first game on Saturday and they won! It's totally different watching him play then watching Adriann last year. He actually gets in there and kicks the ball! It should be a fun season.





Well Kamden is growing bigger and bigger. He is now 16lbs at 6 1/2 months old. He is teething, which is no fun, and is crawling all over. It's more of an army crawl but he gets around. He is the most mellow baby and we love having him in our family.

So what do I do with all my free time? Free time? What's that? I feel like I am constantly in the car dropping off and picking up kids. This is a fun stage in life that we have come to, and I am living for every minute of it! I did join the gym with my friend Audra and we are getting ourselves there 3 times a week so far. I am trying out all the classes and have found a few that I like, so it makes going to the gym fun for me.

The best pet EVER!!!

So we have the best pet. Her name is Betty. She feeds herself, poops everywhere, (but I don't have to clean it up), is totally self sufficient, and my kids love her. She is our housefly. Yes I have a housefly pet and I love her. Ask my kids about the fly flying around my house and they will be the ones to tell you that it is "Mom's pet Betty."

The joke started a few weeks ago when the kids were begging me for a dog. A fly happened to fly by and I simply told them that we already had a pet! I told the kids that the fly's name was Betty, and honestly they accepted that and have not bugged me since about getting a dog!

Funny Story........

One of my brother's best friends growing up is named Adam. He is very cool. Right now he is hitchhiking all over the U.S. When my brother got married in Vegas he hitched a ride there and said that he was going to be in California some time. So whenever I see anyone hitching a ride or holding a sign on the corner I always look for him. My goal was to someday find him and pick him up.

Well while my parents were here visiting, we were leaving their hotel to go back to our house for dinner. Right as we got on the freeway a guy was walking and had just pulled out a cardboard sign. I said to Akoni, that kind of looks like Adam, but what really was the possibility of that. I almost called my Dad who was driving behind us to tell him that and to look and see if it was Adam, but I didn't.

We got home a few minutes later someone walked into my house on the phone and I was wondering who it was because it didn't sound like my dad. Then my mom walked in and said "Hey look who we found!" IT was Adam! I was so excited! He had just gotten dropped off by someone and was trying to hitch a ride up to San Francisco that night. So we fed him and stuffed his pants pockets full of Oatmeal and whatever else he would let us. Then my Dad and Akoni took him to 711 to get a drink and drove him about 1 hour north so he could finish hitching up to San Francisco where he had a friend that he was going to stay with.

Seeing Adam really just made my day. I was so excited to see him and know that he was safe. He has been hitching rides all over the country for a few years and is having such a great time. I think it's so funny that he does it, but he is loving it. And he is such a great guy, but never in a million years would I ever pick him up if I didn't know him. Would you?
